On #OrangeShirtDay @NSTeachersUnion members recognize, as treaty people, the shameful legacy of residential schools & the courage, beauty & resilience of Indigenous students, families & communities who experienced them. Some came home. Some did not. We remember them all. We stand in solidarity for clean drinking water, respect for treaty rights & full, immediate funding for equitable access to services on & off reserve for all Canadians of Indigenous ancestry. It’s 2019 & it’s way past due.
